Tuesday, August 12, 2008 11:28 PM Well, finally some good news: I finished a race this year without engine trouble! The Friday night show at Twin State Speedway was cancelled due to rain, but Saturday’s show at Monadnock Speedway went on as scheduled. The night would not be complete without something to fix between races, as I suffered some minor cosmetic damage. There was no major damage, just some bent fiberglass panels and tire marks, but that’s expected from short track racing. I still managed to get a 5th place finish out of it and gained some valuable experience that I have been missing out on this year unfortunately. The next AllStar Race Truck Series race is August 23rd at Waterford Speedbowl. Also, just to get back in the seat of a road race car this year, I am scheduled to compete in the Sept. 11-13th Skip Barber Regional Race at Lime Rock Park in the Mazda Miatas. Matt Monday, July 28, 2008 8:53 PM Well, it has been a rough past couple of months, and I have to say that this year has definitely not gone the way I had imagined. Four blown motors in three races. Not good. We had a solid run going at the previous race at Monadnock but overheating forced me to slow down though we still finished the race 5th, and with a blown piston ring. But now we have Jeff Roell from Danbury Chassis Dyno Service working on a new motor for us, and hopefully figuring out this overheating problem. Once that’s done, we will be in tip-top shape for the double-header weekend August 8th and 9th at Twin State Speedway and Monadnock Speedway. Matt | ||||||||||||||||
