Monday, April 14, 2008 8:05 AM Well, this wasn’t exactly the way I wanted the season to start off, but what can you do. You’ve heard of Murphy’s Law, right? We arrived on Friday, April 11th for the practice before the first race on Saturday, April 12th, and during the first lap of practice, the motor blew. So, we were sent home packing before we even got the season started. It was really, really disappointing for me and the entire team to put it mildly but that’s racing. The good news is that the motor is currently being repaired by the motor builder, and I’m confident that we’ll be ready to race again on May 30th at Twin State Speedway. In the meantime, be sure to check out the new pics of my truck from Friday. Matt Monday, March 31, 2008 9:37 PM Well, the truck is all put together, with just the vinyl layer remaining to be applied. New front-end body parts, refreshed motor, and now everything is ready to go including me. I even took the truck up and down the driveway a few times to check out the transmission and make sure everything was in proper working order. Last Saturday, March 29th, we also had a photographer from The Journal News come up and take some pictures of me and the truck for a future story in the newspaper. So look for me in the weeks to come. Race season is finally here with practice this weekend (April 5th and 6th) at Waterford Speedbowl, with the race the following weekend (April 12th). My next blog entry will be after the first race, so come check back after April 12th for the results. Matt | ||||||||||||||||
